The last 7 card draw I posted using the Titania’s Fortune Cards proved to be stunningly accurate. The prediction took just a few days longer than a week to materialize, although not in the way I expected. For additional information, check out the post: Titania’s Fortune Cards – 7 Card Draw.

This morning I decided to try another 7 card draw for the coming week to see if I can get another accurate prediction. Here are the cards that I drew:

Moon + Ring + Coffin + House + Woman + Dog + Ship

Moon next to Ring represents ‘a proposal,’ and Coffin represents an ending. My first impression of these cards was that I would learn that an engagement will be called off for a female family member (House + Woman) and that her fiance would move away (Dog + Ship).

I couldn’t think of who this person might be, since I don’t know of anyone in the family who is presently engaged to be married.

Then another interpretation jumped out at me that makes more sense in terms of what’s already going on in my life. I just worry that I might be reading into the cards since this deals with a situation I’m already aware of. Here’s my breakdown:

Moon + Ring + Coffin + House = a proposal on a house falls through or meets serious obstacles.
Woman + Dog + Ship = a woman and her husband from far away, or a woman and her husband leave.

My brother-in-law’s sister and her husband have decided to relocate to the area where I live, and the husband has been here all week house hunting. I have not yet heard if he’s made a proposal on a house, but these cards may indicate that whatever proposal he makes will fall through. This is actually good news for me because I’d prefer if they did not move close by (long story).

Honestly, I think either interpretation makes sense, and so it will be interesting to see how these cards end up playing out this coming week.

I’d love to hear if anyone has another possible interpretation for this spread.

Feed back 5/9/09: Well, this spread did not refer to the proposal on the house because it went through smoothly, and the building has already commenced. It’s funny how often the cards do not turn out to be what we at first think.

Unless this situation is yet to manifest, the only thing I can associate with these cards is an invitation to a family wedding that I won’t be able to attend. The wedding will take place in another area of the country, and I’m not able to make a long-distance trip.

I was impressed by the immediacy and accuracy of the Titania’s Fortune Cards from my 3 card daily draw last week (once Alanna steered me in the righ direction), so I’ve decided to try a 7 card draw for the coming week.

Normally I like to fan out the deck and choose my cards randomly, but that isn’t easy to do with this deck, so I shuffled and dealt my 7 cards directly from the top of the deck. In the book that accompanies the cards, Titania states that either method can be used. I drew the following cards:

Tower + Key + Moon + House + Owl + Man + Cloud

I was surprised to see Tower and Moon come up again since they were part of my 3 card draw from last week. It seems that issue may not yet be resolved.

First I want to break the reading down like I do with the Lenormand, but keeping to the Titania meanings:

Tower + Key = Someone older or someone (or something) from my past brings success, or offers a clue to a situation or problem.

Moon + House = An invitation to someone’s home.

Bird + Man = Man probably represents me, and the Bird indicates nervousness or excitement. This could also show discussions with a man.

Clouds = worries and uncertainties.

Here’s what I get from these cards:

Someone older or someone from my past offers a clue to a problem or situation. I’m invited to someone’s house where there is lot’s of discussion with a man about whatever is on his mind or is worrying him.

I think it’s interesting to note that last week I actually received invitations from two people from the past. One was a male who invited me to join his friends list on Facebook, and the other was an actual invitation from a female to talk. I had not seen or heard from either in several years. I’m interested to see if this spread relates back to one or both of these people.

Update Jan 15 – This prediction manifested, but not at all in the way I expected. The man was invited to my home, and the Bird and Cloud warned of some disturbing news from this person, which was the case. Looking back over these cards, I don’t know how I might have differentiated between who would be doing the inviting, and that the meeting would take place in my own home.

I’m intrigued though, so I’ll continue practicing with this deck.

A recent reader comment (you can check out Alanna’s comment here) made me realize that I haven’t given the Titania’s Fortune Cards a fair chance. In response, I’ve decided to track my daily card draws using these cards for a few days to see if they are as accurate for me as they seem to be for so many other people.

I know that this deck is a version of the Petit Jeu Lenormand, but for this exercise I want to forget all of the meanings I’m used to using for the Lenormand, and focus only on the meanings provided for this specific deck in the book Titania’s Fortune Cards: How to Interpret the Cards by Titania Hardie.

This morning I focused on what I need to be aware of today, and drew the following three cards:

According to Titania, The Whip represents Strife and quarrels. Next to the Tower, the Whip can refer to an argument with someone older than me, or someone from the past. The Tower is also a card of protection, so perhaps this person thinks they know what is best for me.

The moon is a very positive influence that softens the affect of negative cards. The moon seems to confirm that this person has my best interests at heart. So perhaps these cards predict a disagreement with someone (rather than a violent argument) concerning some new ideas.

Since I know from personal experience that daily draws don’t always manifest on the exact day, I’ll give this prediction a week or so to materialize. It will be interesting to see what this turns out to be!

The Child

The Book

The child can represent an actual child in my life, and the book can refer to the child’s education or to something totally unexpected happening. The Man most likely represents me. Today is my little nephew’s birthday, and we’re having a celebration, so I wonder if these cards are referring to something unexpected happening with our plans. He’s too young for school, and too innocent to be hiding anything. I could be that I will end up covering up for a child today.

The other thought I have is that the child and book refer to a new area of study that will capture my interest. Nothing in the works at the moment, but I’m known to have a wandering eye when it comes to learning new things.

It’s back to oracle cards this morning with a three-card draw from one of my absolute favorite decks – Daphne’s Tell A Fortune Cards. This is a great deck for someone who wants to learn to read playing cards, but doesn’t want to memorize all the meanings. The meanings are printed on each card in beautiful calligraphy with little designs that make this deck as beautiful as it functional.

9 of Diamonds

3 of Spades

Queen of Spades

The 9D indicates that someone is wishing for me (misses me?) or is wishing on me (wants something from me?). It can also mean extra money which supports yesterdays draw, and brings a smile to my face. The 3S can represent a problem, but it also indicates communication or resolving misunderstandings. The QS is a sexy, passionate, possessive lady.

The first interpretation that came to mind when I pulled these cards was that a woman was wishing to communicate with me to resolve a misunderstanding. This interpretation makes sense to me as there is a female friend I had a falling out with several years ago, and have not been in contact with her since. This message has come up before in my daily draws, so it may be that she is trying to contact me. We’ve both moved since we lost contact, and I have no idea how to reach her either.

The two spades falling on the 9D can also show money problems, which is also true. I could end up having to pay more than I want for something, or a woman will tell me that I’m overdrawn on my checking account. Ouch!

Update Dec 11, 2008:

For several months I had been drawing the message that a female friend from the past would be coming back into my life, but time passed and the event didn’t materialize.

The playing cards, and the Tell A Fortune cards specifically, tend to be very immediate. Usually an event predicted with these cards will happen within days or within a week or two at most.

This event regarding the old friend was finally validated for me several weeks ago (10 months after the predictions started showing up in my daily draws). I received word from an old friend (female) that I roomed with when I was in college more than 10 years ago. So, don’t lose faith if your predictions seem to take longer than you expect to materialize. Timing is not an exact science in divination.

I woke up this morning in the mood to work with Tarot. I know that this is supposed to be an Oracle Cards blog, but the option was to post my Tarot draw, or post nothing. So I decided to go ahead and post an interesting Tarot three-card draw.

Zolar’s New Astrological Tarot Fortune Telling Deck is probably the strangest Tarot deck I own. I have a used copy from the 1970s that I found on ebay a few years ago, and it did not come with any instructions. I have no idea how these cards are supposed to be used, so I’ve always treated it like any other oracle deck.

I think the oddest thing about the Zolar deck is that there are only 56 cards with images on both sides of each card. One side of each card contains a very poorly colored reproduction of a Rider-Waite Minor Arcana image, printed interpretations for both upright and reversed positions, and a corresponding playing card suit and number. On the other side of each card is either a poorly colored reproduction of a Rider-Waite Major Arcana image with printed interpretations, OR either a planetary or zodiacal image with lucky number and printed interpretations. One card has a blank back – The King of Cups. Needless to say, it’s a very interesting deck, and it requires some very crafty shuffling.

It’s impossible to draw cards randomly with this deck even with your eyes closed since the texture is different on the two sides of each card. The Minor Arcana are slick, and the Major Arcana (backs) are matte. For my draw I decided which side of the deck would be the top, and then shuffled and cut the deck into three piles (top-down). Then I flipped each pile and read the bottom card for today’s message. I ended up getting all Minor Arcana Cards all in the upright position:

6 of Pentacles – Benevolent aspirations prompted by good fortune and material success.

3 of Pentacles – Added revenue from an unexpected source. Material success.

Knight of Cups – A young man with light brown hair and hazel eyes. Good news, and invitation to a social affair.

Oh, I like this message a lot! Good news, and an increase in money from an unexpected source, will put me in a generous mood. It looks like the added income won’t hurt my social life either.

Here’s a picture of the card backs:

Maybe I should consider playing these numbers in the lottery!

I was in the mood for some practical, timely insight this morning, so I decided to draw my daily cards from the Oracle Gé. Although most oracles may reveal energies at work that may not manifest for several days or even months, I’ve found that Oracle Gé will usually refer to something immediate in my life. The cards I drew were a little surprising:

17 The Star

12 The Dagger

59 The Bat

The Dagger represents aggression, malice and violence, which is more severe when the card falls in the reversed position. Luckily I drew the card upright today, but it still isn’t good news. The Bat represents loss, theft, betrayal and fraud. Eeek! That is clearly not a happy combination. The Star is the saving grace of the spread. It represents protections in all forms including overt as well as secret defense. It’s nice to know that someone has my back.

It appears that I can expect some negative emotions today over a betrayal or breach of trust–perhaps a nasty argument. Thankfully the Star promises that I’ll be protected from any real harm or injury.

This morning I felt drawn to use the Wisdoms Oracle Cards for my daily three-card draw. Normally I shuffle the deck while focusing on my question: “What do I need to be aware of for today?” Then I fan the cards out face-down on the table and randomly draw three cards. To change it up, today I simply cut the deck into three piles, and read the cut by flipping each pile over to reveal the picture at the bottom. Here’s what the cut revealed:

3 Gemini

17 Wisdom

36 Luck

Gemini can represent a person in my life who exhibits Gemini qualities, or it can indicate that Gemini energy is at work in the current situation. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, and it represents mental activity and communications. In a general sense, it usually indicates working on something mentally or doing a lot of thinking about the matter at hand. This card can also denote the need to make a decision, or the need to do something over.

Wisdom represents making wise choices and using wisdom to one’s advantage in a situation.

Luck is similar to the Lenormand Clover, as its image suggests, and represents good luck coming to bear on the matter at hand. It can also herald a lucky opportunity on the way. This card is ruled by the planet Jupiter which brings expansion and abundance to any situation.

Since I don’t know any Gemini’s or anyone with a Gemini personality, I think today’s message is pretty clear: Careful thought and planning, and a wise decision will be needed to make the most of a lucky opportunity.

The Bear

The Coffin

The Ring

The Moon

The Tower

The Crossroads

I discovered after I’d randomly drawn my cards that I had someone pulled an extra card (The Crossroads), so I put it to the side to be read in conjunction with the Tower as the final outcome.

Interpretation:

The Recent Past or Present:
Snake + Bear shows that I’m currently experiencing some financial troubles.

Answers the Question:
Coffin + Ring shows a transformation and end to problems, and a successful contract. The ebay store offers an opportunity to recover financially.

Contributing Factors Yet to Be Considered:
Moon + Tower shows creativity and ambition. Perhaps more of my emotions and creative energy will need to be invested in this project than I realize to ensure success.

Pivot & Extra Card:
Tower + Crossroads indicates a chance to reach a high level of success with the project. The Crossroads suggests that several new options could open up for me if I’m willing to put in the necessary effort. In matter of work, the Crossroads can refer to a 2nd job or part time work, so it reinforces the idea that there may be more involved with the project than I anticipate.

My favorite spread for asking a specific question of the cards is one I borrowed from Regina Russell’s Card Reader’s Handbook. The spread is designed to be used with playing cards, but I’ve found that it works equally well with other oracle cards–particularly the Lenormand.

Method:

Shuffle the cards until you feel ready, and then fan them out on the table picture-side down.

The question must be stated aloud–I’m not sure why this is so, but I’ve found that if I don’t state the question aloud as per Ms Russell’s instructions, the spread doesn’t work for me.

Draw six cards at random dealing each face up according to the diagram.

The cards are read in columns only beginning with the first column on the left.

Interpretation:

The first column (cards 1 & 4) represents recent past or present influences.

The middle column (cards 2 & 5) answers the question.

The column on the far right (cards 3 & 6) represents contributing factors yet to be considered.

Card #6 will usually contain the outcome of the question, and is considered the ‘pivot card.’

Sample Question Reading Using Playing Cards:

I was on the phone yesterday with a friend, and she had me ask the cards if she would be getting back together with her boyfriend. I decided to use the playing cards and this spread to answer her question, and this reading is what inspired me to post the spread on my blog–along with the reading with her permission of course.

Q: Will I reconcile with my boyfriend?

Queen of Spades

2 of Diamonds

6 of Hearts

3 of Diamonds

Ace of Diamonds

Ace of Clubs

QS + 2D = My friend fits the description of the QS (it can also represent a divorced or separated woman), and the 2D shows that she’s been enjoying her independence since the relationship ended.

6H + 3D = The 6H can represent the relationship, or it could also represent the boyfriend. The 3D shows a temporary situation, and that not a lot of effort has been invested in the relationship, and that it’s been an ‘on again/off again’ romance. This I know to be true.

AD + AC = The AD shows a new start, and the AC shows determination and focus. The two of a kind would indicate a surprise.

I thought the reading pretty much nailed the situation. My friend is a very independent woman, and she has not put forth the necessary effort to sustain the relationship. The middle cards answer the question, and show that there will be a temporary reconciliation, but the pattern of ‘on again/off again’ will continue. The final two cards show that a new start is possible if she is willing to focus her energies on making the relationship work. If she would put forth the effort, she would be surprised by how different things could be. The pivot card is a club showing that action and effort is required on her part to make a new start.
