Line of 7 – Titania’s Fortune Cards

15 01 2009

The last 7 card draw I posted using the Titania’s Fortune Cards proved to be stunningly accurate.  The prediction took just a few days longer than a week to materialize, although not in the way I expected.  For additional information, check out the post:  Titania’s Fortune Cards – 7 Card Draw.

This morning I decided to try another 7 card draw for the coming week to see if I can get another accurate prediction.  Here are the cards that I drew:

Moon + Ring + Coffin + House + Woman + Dog + Ship

Moon next to Ring represents ‘a proposal,’ and Coffin represents an ending. My first impression of these cards was that I would learn that an engagement will be called off for a female family member (House + Woman) and that her fiance would move away (Dog + Ship).

I couldn’t think of who this person might be, since I don’t know of anyone in the family who is presently engaged to be married.

Then another interpretation jumped out at me that makes more sense in terms of what’s already going on in my life. I just worry that I might be reading into the cards since this deals with a situation I’m already aware of. Here’s my breakdown:

Moon + Ring + Coffin + House = a proposal on a house falls through or meets serious obstacles.
Woman + Dog + Ship = a woman and her husband from far away, or a woman and her husband leave.

My brother-in-law’s sister and her husband have decided to relocate to the area where I live, and the husband has been here all week house hunting.  I have not yet heard if he’s made a proposal on a house, but these cards may indicate that whatever proposal he makes will fall through.  This is actually good news for me because I’d prefer if they did not move close by (long story).

Honestly, I think either interpretation makes sense, and so it will be interesting to see how these cards end up playing out this coming week.

I’d love to hear if anyone has another possible interpretation for this spread.

Feed back 5/9/09:  Well, this spread did not refer to the proposal on the house because it went through smoothly, and the building has already commenced.  It’s funny how often the cards do not turn out to be what we at first think.

Unless this situation is yet to manifest, the only thing I can associate with these cards is an invitation to a family wedding that I won’t be able to attend.  The wedding will take place in another area of the country, and I’m not able to make a long-distance trip.

Titania’s Fortune Cards – 7 Card Draw

4 01 2009

I was impressed by the immediacy and accuracy of the Titania’s Fortune Cards from my 3 card daily draw last week (once Alanna steered me in the righ direction), so I’ve decided to try a 7 card draw for the coming week.

Normally I like to fan out the deck and choose my cards randomly, but that isn’t easy to do with this deck, so I shuffled and dealt my 7 cards directly from the top of the deck.  In the book that accompanies the cards, Titania states that either method can be used.  I drew the following cards:

Tower + Key + Moon + House + Owl + Man + Cloud

I was surprised to see Tower and Moon come up again since they were part of my 3 card draw from last week.  It seems that issue may not yet be resolved.

First I want to break the reading down like I do with the Lenormand, but keeping to the Titania meanings:

Tower + Key = Someone older or someone (or something) from my past brings success, or offers a clue to a situation or problem.

Moon + House = An invitation to someone’s home.

Bird + Man = Man probably represents me, and the Bird indicates nervousness or excitement.  This could also show discussions with a man.

Clouds = worries and uncertainties.

Here’s what I get from these cards:

Someone older or someone from my past offers a clue to a problem or situation.  I’m invited to someone’s house where there is lot’s of discussion with a man about whatever is on his mind or is worrying him.

I think it’s interesting to note that last week I actually received invitations from two people from the past.  One was a male who invited me to join his friends list on Facebook, and the other was an actual invitation from a female to talk.   I had not seen or heard from either in several years.  I’m interested to see if this spread relates back to one or both of these people.

Update Jan 15This prediction manifested, but not at all in the way I expected.  The man was invited to my home, and the Bird and Cloud warned of some disturbing news from this person, which was the case.  Looking back over these cards, I don’t know how I might have differentiated between who would be doing the inviting, and that the meeting would take place in my own home.

I’m intrigued though, so I’ll continue practicing with this deck.

Titania’s Fortune Cards – Daily Draw

27 12 2008

A recent reader comment (you can check out Alanna’s comment here) made me realize that I haven’t given the Titania’s Fortune Cards a fair chance.  In response, I’ve decided to track my daily card draws using these cards for a few days to see if they are as accurate for me as they seem to be for so many other people.

I know that this deck is a version of the Petit Jeu Lenormand, but for this exercise I want to forget all of the meanings I’m used to using for the Lenormand, and focus only on the meanings provided for this specific deck in the book Titania’s Fortune Cards: How to Interpret the Cards by Titania Hardie.

This morning I focused on what I need to be aware of today, and drew the following three cards:

According to Titania, The Whip represents Strife and quarrels.  Next to the Tower, the Whip can refer to an argument with someone older than me, or someone from the past.  The Tower is also a card of protection, so perhaps this person thinks they know what is best for me.

The moon is a very positive influence that softens the affect of negative cards.  The moon seems to confirm that this person has my best interests at heart.  So perhaps these cards predict a disagreement with someone (rather than a violent argument) concerning some new ideas.

Since I know from personal experience that daily draws don’t always manifest on the exact day, I’ll give this prediction a week or so to materialize.  It will be interesting to see what this turns out to be!

Titania’s Fortune Cards – Three Card Draw

4 04 2008

Today I felt ready for my very first three card draw with Titania’s Fortune Cards.  The more I play with this deck, the more I like it.  I’ve decided that for this draw I will forget everything I know about the Lenormand Oracle cards, and interpret the spread based on the Titania meanings only.

tfc-bear-book-snake-copy.png

  • The Bear
  • The Book
  • The Snake

The key card is the Book which represents something unrevealed or as yet unknown.  It could also refer to books, or study and learning.  It’s a positive card.  The Bear represents something big and important, and it’s also a very positive card.  The Snake is a tricky card that can denote deceit when surrounded by negative cards, or wisdom when influenced by positive cards.  Since both the Book and the Bear are positive cards, I’m inclined to read the Snake as wisdom rather than deceit. On the other hand, the Book + Snake could indicate a dark secret…darn! I knew I should have pulled another card for clarification.

Two interpretations come to mind depending on whether I choose to read the Snake as a positive or negative influence.  On the positive side, these cards could be referring to an important learning opportunity that will require wisdom to handle successfully.  This interpretation makes sense to me, and I think I know what it could be referring to. On the negative side, these cards could refer to a big secret deception that will be revealed.  It will be interesting to see what turns up.

PS~ Grrh!  I know I wasn’t going to pull in my Lenormand meanings, but this spread screams of some financial hanky panky going on…  I’d better double check receipts and make sure my checkbook is balanced correctly over the next couple of days just to play it safe!

Titania’s Fortune Cards

30 03 2008

Titania’s Fortune Cards have been on my wishlist since I first became interested in the Lenormand Oracle just after Christmas of last year.  I’d heard mixed reviewed of the deck, but many successful Lenormand readers cut their teeth on the Titania cards, so I had decided it was a ‘must have’ deck.  Finally last week, I won a bid on ebay for this these cards, and the deck arrived in the mail yesterday.

tfc-review.png

Although I didn’t have high expectations for the the quality of the cards themselves based on the reviews I read, I was sorely disappointed when I opened the deck.  The cards are of very light-weight stock, and they have a matte finish that make them very difficult to fan out on a smooth surface.  I had expected the fluorescent negative images to pack more of a punch, and was surprise by how muted the colors are in natural light.

The accompanying book is what makes the deck worth owning.  Surprisingly, the book is of excellent quality.  The pages are glossy and nearly as thick as the cards.  It’s unfortunate that the true beauty of the deck shines through on the glossy images in the book, and not on the actual cards.

Now that I’ve finished whining, I will admit that I’ll enjoy working with these cards.  In my opinion, the book is a real treasure.  Titania provides a fresh perspective in her modern interpretation of the Lenormand symbols without out losing sight of the traditional meanings.  My only complaint about the book is that it provides so few meanings for the card combinations that drive the Lenormand oracle.  On the other hand, leaving the interpretation of the combinations to the reader’s intuition is probably not such a bad idea.

I need to spend a few days becoming familiar with the Titania cards before I attempt my first draw.  I’m also looking forward to experimenting with the 7-card spread provided in the book which can be used for daily forecasts.  Stay tuned…
