Tell A Fortune Cards – Three Card Draw

27 04 2008

It’s back to oracle cards this morning with a three-card draw from one of my absolute favorite decks – Daphne’s Tell A Fortune Cards.  This is a great deck for someone who wants to learn to read playing cards, but doesn’t want to memorize all the meanings.  The meanings are printed on each card in beautiful calligraphy with little designs that make this deck as beautiful as it functional.

  • 9 of Diamonds
  • 3 of Spades
  • Queen of Spades

The 9D indicates that someone is wishing for me (misses me?) or is wishing on me (wants something from me?).  It can also mean extra money which supports yesterdays draw, and brings a smile to my face. :)   The 3S can represent a problem, but it also indicates communication or resolving misunderstandings.  The QS is a sexy, passionate, possessive lady.

The first interpretation that came to mind when I pulled these cards was that a woman was wishing to communicate with me to resolve a misunderstanding.  This interpretation makes sense to me as there is a female friend I had a falling out with several years ago, and have not been in contact with her since.  This message has come up before in my daily draws, so it may be that she is trying to contact me.  We’ve both moved since we lost contact, and I have no idea how to reach her either.

The two spades falling on the 9D can also show money problems, which is also true.  I could end up having to pay more than I want for something, or a woman will tell me that I’m overdrawn on my checking account.  Ouch!

Update Dec 11, 2008:

For several months I had been drawing the message that a female friend from the past would be coming back into my life, but time passed and the event didn’t materialize.

The playing cards, and the Tell A Fortune cards specifically, tend to be very immediate.  Usually an event predicted with these cards will happen within days or within a week or two at most.

This event regarding the old friend was finally validated for me several weeks ago (10 months after the predictions started showing up in my daily draws).  I received word from an old friend (female) that I roomed with when I was in college more than 10 years ago.  So, don’t lose faith if your predictions seem to take longer than you expect to materialize.  Timing is not an exact science in divination.

Tell A Fortune – Three Card Draw

3 04 2008

Today I drew my daily cards from Daphne’s Tell A Fortune deck.  This is one of my favorite oracle decks, and I’ve always found it to be accurate and insightful.  This morning I pulled three cards with nothing particular in mind.

  • 10 of Hearts
  • Queen of Clubs
  • 3 of Diamonds

I really like the idea of reading the center card as the ‘key card’ for the spread.  In this case the key card is a woman in my life who is  reliable and fun and ambitious.  The 10H represents emotional security or career advancement, but it could also refer to a party or celebration.  The 3D carries a lot of meanings including a promise or contract, a small sum of money, part-time work, communication (usually regarding money) or unsustained efforts.

These card suggest a couple of different interpretations to me.  First the QC could represent my sister since it is the card I usually use to represent her.  She is currently helping to put together a baby shower for a friend of her which is taking up more time and energy that she had originally anticipated–almost like a part-time job.

Another interpretation that comes to mind is that my sister will get an opportunity for some recognition and a small raise in pay at work (she does work part time).  She’s a hairstylist, so a promotion is not likely, but a change for the better in her career is certainly indicated if she is willing to put in more effort–extra hours, etc. for success.

Tell A Fortune Cards – QD + 3S + JH

25 03 2008

For my daily draw this morning I wanted to choose an oracle that is full of light and joy, and I think Daphne’s Tell A Fortune Cards fit the bill perfectly.  This deck is a favorite of mine, and I’ve always gotten very accurate readings from these cards.  Today I drew:

  • Queen of Diamonds
  • 3 of Spades
  • Jack of Hearts

I think these cards tie in with yesterday’s message from the Cartouche Oracle.  The 3 of Spades represents a problem, and it sits between two people: the Queen of Diamonds and the Jack of Hearts.  Because the 3S is modified by a heart card falling on top, it shows that the problem or misunderstanding is being resolved through communication.

As I said, I’m sure these cards are referring to the little blow out I had with my sister last night.  My sister is intelligent and dynamic, and she can be aggressive at times, so I think the QD fits her personality perfectly.  Although I don’t usually choose the JH to represent myself, I was feeling moody and self-indulgent last night, so as they say, “if the shoe fits.” :)  In any case, it looks like we’ll talk through the misunderstanding today and completely clear the air.
