Titania’s Fortune Cards – Three Card Draw

4 04 2008

Today I felt ready for my very first three card draw with Titania’s Fortune Cards.  The more I play with this deck, the more I like it.  I’ve decided that for this draw I will forget everything I know about the Lenormand Oracle cards, and interpret the spread based on the Titania meanings only.

  • The Bear
  • The Book
  • The Snake

The key card is the Book which represents something unrevealed or as yet unknown.  It could also refer to books, or study and learning.  It’s a positive card.  The Bear represents something big and important, and it’s also a very positive card.  The Snake is a tricky card that can denote deceit when surrounded by negative cards, or wisdom when influenced by positive cards.  Since both the Book and the Bear are positive cards, I’m inclined to read the Snake as wisdom rather than deceit. On the other hand, the Book + Snake could indicate a dark secret…darn! I knew I should have pulled another card for clarification.

Two interpretations come to mind depending on whether I choose to read the Snake as a positive or negative influence.  On the positive side, these cards could be referring to an important learning opportunity that will require wisdom to handle successfully.  This interpretation makes sense to me, and I think I know what it could be referring to. On the negative side, these cards could refer to a big secret deception that will be revealed.  It will be interesting to see what turns up.

PS~ Grrh!  I know I wasn’t going to pull in my Lenormand meanings, but this spread screams of some financial hanky panky going on…  I’d better double check receipts and make sure my checkbook is balanced correctly over the next couple of days just to play it safe!

Did I tell you that my very first intro to lenormand decks was the Titania–:)
I was addicted- her meanings are different- I still bare it in mind as an alternative-

I do like the bear as it indicates authority – with the book perhaps- knowledge/scholar more so than only just secrets- serpent in many cultures is reverant an considered divine- wisdom in secrets- snakes are elusive and mysterious-

I would read this as becoming an authority in occult knowledge Aristede- you are well on your way in that respects..perhaps you should consider a serious approach to master the field..

Hi Stormy,

Wow! I like your interpretation much better than mine! :) And thank you for the wonderful compliment. In the Cartouche Oracle Cards, the Snake (Uraeus) can represent wisdom and the occult, so the connection does make sense to me. I’ve never read the Bear as “authority,” but it makes sense based on the Titania meanings. Thank you for your wonderful insight!

Yes you kind of get the feeling- that the Bear are like bosses- high execs, top of their field kinda individuals- extrapolate that- becoming top of the field in your arena of choice- the book makes it scholarly and the snake – the occult–

I have to investigate into the Cartouche– :)

Hi Aristede,

Stormy’s interpretation of your cards seems very logical. I have such a hard time thinking of the bear in terms of financial things – the Fish always represent that in my mind.

One think that instantly crossed my mind when I saw these cards – was a very powerful secret that you are tempted to learn (sometimes, the snake comes across as temptation to me). Kind of like opening Pandora’s Box…….

That is almost like Stormy’s idea of becoming a master of the occult.

I bought Titania’s Cards from Scotland 7years ago.
I love the cards & I use them very often to help me calm & consedrate.
Last Day I throw the cards in full cross reading it comes like this;
Key,Coffin,Scythe,Sun,Dog,Fish,Flowers,snake,fox,ring
As the central card is fish I know it has to do something with money and the help of a friend but what worries me is the coffin together with the scythe.
Does it mean the death of someone of a situation or what?
Can anybody help me as it really stuck in my mind.
Thank you very much

LOOKS LIKE A VERY BIG DECEIT IS GOING TO TAKE PLACE IN THE LIFE OF THE PERSON FOR WHOM THE CARDS ARE BEING DRAWN FOR. COULD BE THAT SOME UNDERHAND MAJOR DEALINGS ARE BEING PLANNED AGAINST THE QUERANT, WHICH COULD HAVE A NEGATIVE EFFECT . HE/SHE WILL HAVE TO BE ALERT & NOT TRUST ANYONE.

Can anyone tell me if it is the case that these cards should only ever be given as a present, and not bought yourself? The reason I ask is that a friend of mine always did my readings, but sadly he died recently:-(

Hi Sarah,

I have heard that your first deck of Tarot cards should be a gift, but I’ve never heard that about the Titania or Lenormand cards. I think the idea that cards should only be received as a gift is a myth. I’ve always bought my own cards (tarot, oracle, whatever), and have never had a problem. I have also received cards as gifts, and can’t say I noticed any difference in how they work. :)

Hi Amarita,

I didn’t experience any deception with money, so I think Stormy’s interpretation of this daily draw was probably right. I did make great progress with the Lenormand cards, so I think that was what this draw was referring to.

Yes, I find these cards to be VERY accurate. I have a hard time getting past the fact that they’re so hard to shuffle, and nearly impossible to spread out on the table due to their weird finish. If that weren’t such a problem, I would probably use these cards a lot more.
