Lenormand Blue Owl – Three Card Draw

31 03 2008

Today I drew my daily cards from the Blue Owl Lenormand.  I charged card 28 to represent myself, but did not focus on a particular question or issue.

32-33-30-copy.png

  • The Moon
  • The Key
  • The Lily

The Key represents something important, a solution, or that destiny is at play in a situation.  the Moon suggests that it is of emotional or spiritual significance, and the Lily represents wisdom, or a mature man.

These cards suggest a couple of different interpretations to me.  First, they could refer to a spiritual insight that resolves a problem or issue I’m experiencing.  Also, they could indicate that the spiritual insight comes from an older man who plays a key role in my life.  He could be a father figure, or a spiritual mentor.  In either case, the Key denotes success in a spiritual matter.

Titania’s Fortune Cards

30 03 2008

Titania’s Fortune Cards have been on my wishlist since I first became interested in the Lenormand Oracle just after Christmas of last year.  I’d heard mixed reviewed of the deck, but many successful Lenormand readers cut their teeth on the Titania cards, so I had decided it was a ‘must have’ deck.  Finally last week, I won a bid on ebay for this these cards, and the deck arrived in the mail yesterday.

tfc-review.png

Although I didn’t have high expectations for the the quality of the cards themselves based on the reviews I read, I was sorely disappointed when I opened the deck.  The cards are of very light-weight stock, and they have a matte finish that make them very difficult to fan out on a smooth surface.  I had expected the fluorescent negative images to pack more of a punch, and was surprise by how muted the colors are in natural light.

The accompanying book is what makes the deck worth owning.  Surprisingly, the book is of excellent quality.  The pages are glossy and nearly as thick as the cards.  It’s unfortunate that the true beauty of the deck shines through on the glossy images in the book, and not on the actual cards.

Now that I’ve finished whining, I will admit that I’ll enjoy working with these cards.  In my opinion, the book is a real treasure.  Titania provides a fresh perspective in her modern interpretation of the Lenormand symbols without out losing sight of the traditional meanings.  My only complaint about the book is that it provides so few meanings for the card combinations that drive the Lenormand oracle.  On the other hand, leaving the interpretation of the combinations to the reader’s intuition is probably not such a bad idea.

I need to spend a few days becoming familiar with the Titania cards before I attempt my first draw.  I’m also looking forward to experimenting with the 7-card spread provided in the book which can be used for daily forecasts.  Stay tuned…

Playing Card – Three Card Draw: 6H + 3D + 10S

29 03 2008

This morning I pulled three playing cards for insight and guidance for the day.

6h-3d-10s-copy.png

  • 6 of Hearts
  • 3 of Diamonds
  • 10 of Spades

The 6H represents a male loved one such as a brother, son or boyfriend.  The 3D denotes unsustained efforts, sporadic progress, or part-time work, and the 10S indicates worry and fear.  The three-card fan is interpreted from left to right, and the final card carries the most weight in the interpretation.

I would read the 6H to represent my brother who’s been staying with me while he recovers from a chronic health problem.  The 10S shows that I’m worried about him, and because the 10S falls last, it indicates that the concern is justified.  I could read the 3D two different ways.  In a general sense, it could indicate the sporadic progress he’s been making in his recovery that I’m concerned about.  More specifically the 3D can refer to the fact he’s returned to work part-time, and today he decided to put in some extra hours.  I’m concerned that the extra work could cause a relapse of his health issue.  Both readings would be accurate.

I always find it interesting that the playing cards can refer to several different things, and all of the interpretations prove valid and meaningful.

Art Deco Fortune Cards – Falseness + Good News + Money

28 03 2008

This morning I intended to pull my daily draw from my Wisdoms Oracle deck, but I couldn’t find where I put it last.  When I searched the cabinet where I keep my cards, the Art Deco Fortune Telling deck jumped out at me.  I haven’t used this deck very much, so I thought it would be a perfect day to see what wisdom it has to share.

ad-3-28-copy.png

  • Falseness
  • Good News
  • Money

What I love about this deck is that it is designed to be used intuitively.  The deck does not include a LWB with suggested meanings for the cards.  This is also what I dislike about the deck because it’s difficult sometimes trying to make sense of the card combinations.  Today’s spread seems fairly clear…

Good news is on the way regarding money.  The falseness must refer to a mistake in my favor since it’s combined with such great cards.  Perhaps there was a billing or banking error that escaped my attention that will be corrected bringing a small windfall.

The other idea that comes to mind is regarding work.  I’m used to reading the image of the fox as ’something work related’ based on the meanings I use for the Lenormand.  My subconscious already knows this connection, so the image of the fox in these cards could also refer to work, and perhaps good news regarding a small increase in pay.  Not likely, but nice to contemplate just the same. :)

Lenormand 3 Card Draw – Dog + Crossroads + Anchor

27 03 2008

This morning I decided to pull my daily cards from my Mystical Lenormand deck.  I ‘charged’ card 28 The Man, and focused on “what do I need to know today?”

18-22-35.png

18 The Dog
22 The Crossroads
35 The Anchor

My first impression when I looked at these cards was that they predict a separation (Crossroads) from a friend (Dog).  The Crossroads gives me the sense of a ‘parting of ways.’  The Anchor shows stability so the separation wouldn’t be due to conflict.  The friend could be relocating to find more stability–perhaps a new job.

The other idea that comes to mind is that the friend may choose the option to stay in the end since dropping anchor usually indicates remaining in one place.

I question in this case whether the ‘key card’ is The Crossroads (because it falls in the middle), or the Dog since it seems to represent the focus of the reading.  The Crossroads isn’t typically used as a ‘key card,’ so perhaps in cases where a traditional key card such as the Dog shows up, the focus is shifted to that card.  I’ll have to keep this idea in mind for my future draws to see if it works consistently for me.

Oracle Gé – 3 Card Draw: Papers + Autumn + Two Flutes

26 03 2008

This morning I drew three cards for insight and guidance from Oracle Gé with no particular question in mind:

og-40-55-20-copy.png

  • 40 The Papers
  • 55 Autumn
  • 20 The Two Flutes

The Papers refer to paperwork or administrative procedures which makes sense because this morning I have to take care of some administrative duties which will undoubtedly include a good amount of paperwork.

Autumn is a timing card that can predict that an event will occur in the Fall season, or within three months after the reading.  Autumn can also refer to a situation in decline, or tying up loose ends toward the completion of a project.  This card promises that I’ll get every done that I need to do today regarding the administrative process represented by The Papers.

The Two Flutes clearly represent a celebration.   In relation to Autumn, two possible interpretations come to mind.  First, The Two Flutes may refer to a successful outcome for the administrative obligations I need to take care of today.  Secondly, these cards could indicate that my actions today will bear fruit in three months leading to a happy outcome.  Either way, this is certainly good news!

Tell A Fortune Cards – QD + 3S + JH

25 03 2008

For my daily draw this morning I wanted to choose an oracle that is full of light and joy, and I think Daphne’s Tell A Fortune Cards fit the bill perfectly.  This deck is a favorite of mine, and I’ve always gotten very accurate readings from these cards.  Today I drew:

daph-qd-3s-jh.png

  • Queen of Diamonds
  • 3 of Spades
  • Jack of Hearts

I think these cards tie in with yesterday’s message from the Cartouche Oracle.  The 3 of Spades represents a problem, and it sits between two people: the Queen of Diamonds and the Jack of Hearts.  Because the 3S is modified by a heart card falling on top, it shows that the problem or misunderstanding is being resolved through communication.

As I said, I’m sure these cards are referring to the little blow out I had with my sister last night.  My sister is intelligent and dynamic, and she can be aggressive at times, so I think the QD fits her personality perfectly.  Although I don’t usually choose the JH to represent myself, I was feeling moody and self-indulgent last night, so as they say, “if the shoe fits.” :)  In any case, it looks like we’ll talk through the misunderstanding today and completely clear the air.

Cartouche Card Draw – Uraeus (rx) + Fire (rx)

24 03 2008

Today I pulled my daily draw from the Cartouche Oracle Cards.  Since these cards almost always have a powerful message of wisdom or advice, I usually only draw two cards instead of three:

18-11.png

  • 18 Uraeus (rx)
  • 11 Fire (rx)

Grrh!  It seems that the snake is following me around lately.  Uraeus in the reversed position (rx) is similar in meaning to the Lenormand card 07 The Snake, which I drew in yesterday’s daily cards.  Uraeus (rx) represent a lack of wisdom at best, and deceit, dishonesty, cunning and criminal tendencies at worst.

Fire in the reversed position relates to uncontrolled passions which can lead to sterility, disloyalty or a burst of anger.  Fire in this position can be a warning that someone will lose their temper with me.

I take today’s draw to be a warning.  Uraeus (rx) shows that I could say or do something stupid, and Fire reveals that my blunder could cause a volatile situation or an emotional outburst.  I think I’ll call out from work today. :)

Update 3/25:  Once again the the Cartouche Cards prove themselves to be extremely accurate!

Last night my sister accused me of doing something absolutely ridiculous.  The crazy accusation triggered righteous indignation in me, so I responded badly, and the whole situation escalated to the boiling point.  The scene involved a missing cupcake that is too stupid to even go into.

Anyway, the cards were very much right on target for the day.  Although I didn’t say or do anything stupid, I did react stupidly to a stupid situation that only became more stupid.  My sister’s anger quickly dissipated, and all was forgiven and forgotten five minutes later.  Unfortunately the Cartouche prediction didn’t occur to me in time to diffuse the situation before it escalated out of control.

Oracle Gé – 6 Card Spread

23 03 2008

The 6 Card Spread is my favorite layout to use with Oracle Gé.  The spread was created by Gerard Barbier, the author/creator of Oracle Gé, and it’s featured in one of the books that go along with this deck.  I learned the spread from the author’s forum.

The 6 Card Spread is perfect for exploring a specific question, issue or concern.

Method:

The 6 Card Spread uses a significator (key card) to represent the question or area of concern.  The list includes the most common key cards:

  • Health = 39 The Rat
  • Work = 23 The Tools
  • Love = 06 The Two Hearts
  • Family/Home = 04 The Hearth
  • Finances = 19 Money
  • Legal Matters = 44 Justice
  • Exams = The Papers

A character card used to represent a specific person in the querent’s life can also be used as the significator.

6-card.png

The significator card (S) is placed on the table before the cards are shuffled and cut.  Then 6 cards are drawn and dealt according to the following diagram:

Interpretation:

The cards are interpreted based on the following positional meaning:

1.  Present influences – the situation as it stands.

2.  Future influences if nothing is done to change the situation.

3.  Positive or negative aspects of the situation  or advice on how to resolve the matter.

4, 5 & 6.  The result or final outcome.

I have found this layout to be particularly good for learning how the events surrounding a situation will unfold.  For a more in-depth reading, an additional card can be dealt to ‘cover’ each of the 6 positions as needed.

Playing Card – 3 card draw: QH + JH + 2H

22 03 2008

I’ve been studying Regina Russell’s Card Reader’s Handbook, so this morning I decided to draw three playing cards for insight and guidance:

pcards-qh-jh-2h.png

  • Queen of Hearts
  • Jack of Hearts
  • 2 of Hearts

After the somber reading yesterday, I was happy to see so many sunny Hearts!

Queen and Jack is an old friend come back!“  With the JH it usually refers to an old flame, and with the Queen also being a heart, I’d say it’s pretty clear that these cards refer to an ex-girlfriend.  The 2H shows happy emotions or being excited about something, so the reunion appears to be a happy one.

The message here is one I’ve already received previously in a recent Lenormand Oracle draw, so I’m sure it will come true!  I’ve found Regina Russell’s method to be very accurate, although my playing card draws seem to take longer to manifest than draws from other oracle cards.

As I mentioned when I posted the previous Lenormand reading, an ex-girlfriend has tried to get back in touch with me through a family member.  I avoided the overture because of the way things had ended between us, but both oracles indicate that a reunion would be happy.  It will be interesting to see if she cycles back in again.
